Synopsis

‘Ichak’ :  Marathi movie ‘Ichak‘ is a story of Nandini who is daughter of Vinayrao Sawant who is a powerful politician in the region and a rich farmer. Nandidni is very brave and dashing girl. Mahipati Patil is Sawant’s opponent. Raja works for Patil. Raja and Nandini falls in love with each other. Elections are impending. So Patil and Sawant both are preparing for it. Raja and Nandini meet stealthily outside town. When Patil asks Raja to make a video film of Nandini to defeat Sawant, Raja rebels and oppose Patil. A crime is committed by Raja. He absconds with his friends Santya and Babya. Sawant gets furious when he knows that Nandini loves a poor man like Raja. But he promise Nandini to have them married after election. It’s his fake promise. Patil asks absconded Raja to come back and he will forgive him. Raja comes to meet them at a ceremony. But the next day Raja is found dead. Nandini cries aloud. Sawant and Patil smiles at each other revealing that it was their plan to finish Raja. They did it.

Marathi film ‘Kasav‘ produced by Sumitra Bhave, Sunil Sukthankar and Mohan Agashe has won Golden Lotus National award for best film at 64th National awards declared on Friday, while Priyanka Chopra‘s first Marathi film ‘Ventilator‘ as a Producer has bagged three national awards. In the regional film category awards, film ‘Dashakriya‘ was declared the best Marathi film. The director of the film ‘Ventilator‘ Mr. Rajesh Mapuskar has won the award for Best direction, Rameshwar Bhagat won the award for best editing, while Alok De won the Best Sound design award, bringing a big smile on the face of their celebrity producer. The technical team in the presence of director Rajesh Mapuskar celebrated this happy occasion, by cutting the Victory cake late in the evening.

It may be recalled that this film had many well known artistes from Marathi film, television and Drama field to bring humour into this emotion filled film on a thought provoking subject. Highlight of the film was return of Ashutosh Gowarikar as an actor in ‘Ventilator‘ film, playing an important role. Well Known Bollywood artiste Boman Irani was seen in a special appearance , while Priyanka Chopra was also seen in a guest appearance. The film had received good response from Marathi film lovers and now these three National awards are sure to raise the morale of the entire team.

Synopsis

‘Kaasav’ : Marathi movie ‘Kaasav‘ is a story of Janaki, a divorcee trying to find meaning of life in a sea-turtle conservation project run by the conservationist Dattabhau in a coastal village, accidentally meets an young man. Janaki, with her empathy for the young man, Manav, tries to create a non-judgmental, non-intrusive, warm atmosphere to help him bloom. Aaditya Paithankar, Madhavi Juvekar & others at music launch Marathi movie ‘Gopya’

Today, Marathi films are focused more on sending across a relevant message, besides offering entertainment. Ganesh Film & Entertainment’s film ‘Gopya‘ also promises the same. Recently, music launch and first look of this forthcoming Marathi film was held in Mumbai, in presence of artistes and technical team of the film. The film ‘Gopya‘ is produced by a team of Amol Bhalerao, Nitin Pagare and Raj Paithankar and co-produced by Sarjerao Mote, Atulraje Gayali , Dhanaji Gaikwad & Subhash Jagadhne and directed by Raj Paithankar, who has also written the story and lyrics of this film.

After introducing the people behind making ‘Gopya‘ film, the big group of artistes comprising of Madhavi Juvekar, Kamlesh Sawant, Manisha Paithankar, Aditya Paithankar, Rajesh Bhosle, Prakash Dhotre, Amir Tadwalkar, Manasi Murudkar and Ajit Jadhav were also introduced. The film also stars Uday Sabnis, Jaywant Wadkar, Ajay Jadhav, Sameer Vijayan. Few songs from this film were also shown to the invitees. Kiran-Raj have composed the songs on the lyrics of Yogesh Sabnis.

The film’s Cinematography is by Aniket K while Art Direction is by Devdatt Raut and Nandu Moharkar. Chetan is the choreographer, Sonu Paithankar has designed the sound for the film while Vishal Kotkar has edited the film.

Love stories have always appealed Marathi film lovers. But, to present love stories, one needs special skills to keep the audience engaged. Now, producer Pankaj Gupta and director Suchita Shabbir are offering a love story through their Marathi film ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘, which was launched with muhurat recently. The makers of  ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘ film promise a gripping love story with a message for the young generation.

The director herself has written the story of  ‘Kaay Jhala Kalana‘ film, with screenplay Kiran Kulkarni & Pallavi Karkera. Dialogues are penned by Rahul More, while lyrics are by Madhuri Ashirghade & Valay Mulgund. Music is by Pankaj Padghan with prominent singers like Aadarsh Shinde, Urmila Dhangar, Sayali Pankaj, Rohit Raut, Rupali Moghe and Saurabh Salunke rendering their voices for the songs, for this musical love story. The film stars Arun Nalawade, Sanjay Khapre, Vandana Vaknis, Girija Prabhu, Kalpana Jagtap, Swapnil Kale, Shraddha Surve and Hemali Karekar.

Cinematography by Suresh Deshmane and editing by Rajesh Rao are other credits of the film.

Aakash Thosar, who attained popularity after release of his debut film ‘Sairat‘ is now getting ready with his second Marathi film ‘F.U.‘ s release on 2^nd June 2017. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film’s teaser poster was released recently by Bollywood star Salman Khan. The poster of the film clearly indicates that it is a style film of the popular hero for the youth.

According to the makers of  ‘F.U.’ film, the next poster of the film will be released on social networking sites on 14^th April 2017 at 11.35 am. Marathi Film ‘Kaasav’ , Sanskruti Kaladarpan Award

Sanskruti Kala Darpan Gaurav Rajani, which is in its 17^th year, have announced the list of their final 11 films, which will compete with each other at their Film Festival scheduled on 18^th and 19^th April 2017 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi. This 17^th SKD Film festival will open with National award winning Marathi film ‘Dashakriya‘ followed by films like ‘Ghuma‘, ‘Kaasav‘, ‘Naatee‘, ‘Khel‘, ‘Machivarla Budha‘, ‘Ventilator‘, ‘Half Ticket‘ & ‘Vazandar‘.

All the above mentioned films will be screened with special ticket rates of Rs. 50/- for the film lovers. During the screening of these films, the artistes of these films will also be present, which will give an opportunity to the audience to meet them personally. Rest of the three films also selected, namely, ‘Guru‘, ‘Poshter Girl‘ & ‘Kiran Kulkarni V/s Kiran Kulkarni‘, will not be screened for technical reasons. The 11 films shortlisted, have been selected from 47 films. Mr. Chandrashekhar Sandve and Ms. Archana Nevrekar the heads of SKD have already announced a prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh to the winner in this category.

Marathi movie ‘Sangharsha Yatra‘

If any Marathi film is releasing on a bank holiday, it has certain advantages, as you get the next two days as week end holidays. 14th April is a bank holiday and therefore we find two simultaneous releases in the form of ‘Sangahrshayatra‘ and ‘Saha Gun‘. Both these films have different subjects. While ‘Sangharshayatra‘ is a biopic on late Gopinath Munde, the popular politician; ‘Saha Gun‘ deals with a sensitive subject of high expectations of Parents from their children, while they are in school.

All his Marathi films had very good content, be it in films like ‘Shwaas’, ‘Tahan’,’ Majhi Shala’or latest released film ‘Braveheart’. Now, Mr. Arun Nalawade has directed a Marathi film ‘Tatwa’ which is due for release on 26th May 2017.

Produced by Dr. Sharayu Pazare, the music of this film was launched recently by Legendary singer Anuradha Paudwal.While speaking on the occasion, Singer Anuradha Paudwal said that along with a beautiful storyline, the songs have added a lot of colour to the movie. She wished the film a great success. “Yearning for newer experiences, each one of us should develop our individuality. This is the message that Dr. Sharayu Pazare has sincerely tried to spread,” she added.

The film stars Sanjay Shejwal and Gauri Konge as the lead pair. Along with them we have Arun Nalawade, Dr. Sharayu Pazare, Devendra Dodke, Dr. Sarita Gharde, Vikrant Borkar, Sheetal Raut, Nutan Dhavne, Sadanand Borkar, Kamalakar Borkar, Manjusha Joshi and child artiste Gauri. ‘Tatva’ has been shot at Chandrapur.

We have often seen involvement of Bollywood stars during the promotion of Marathi films, to invite the attention of Marathi film lovers. Either they give clap of the muhurat shot or release the music of the film. Now, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan announced the release date of Bollywood fashion designer Vikram Phadnis Marathi film ‘Hrudayantar’ recently. It may be recalled that another Superstar Shahrukh Khan had given the muhurat clap of ‘Hrudayantar’ film.

Hrithik Roshan made announcement of the release date of this film as 9^th June 2017, on social networking site, stating that he was proud to be associated with this film. The film stars Mukta Barve, Subodh Bhave and Sonali Khare in the lead roles. The film ‘Hrudayantar’ is jointly produced by Vikram Phadnis Productions and Young Berry Entertainment of Pratap Sarnaik and his son Purvesh Sarnaik and is directed by Vikram Phadnis himself.

During the past two years, four of his films were released. Out of these four films, Gashmeer Mahajani had an opportunity to shoot at foreign locations for his film ‘One way Ticket‘.

With ‘One way Ticket‘ Gashmeer Mahajani toured places like Italy Spain & France. And now, while shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar‘s film ‘Rubik’s Cube‘ he had an opportunity to shoot at beautiful location at Piran in Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland. And, at every place he has stayed at least for eight days. Isn’t that a big achievement for a Marathi star like him ? The places he liked the most were the beach of Piran and city of Bard in Italy.

Asha Bhosale and Sadhana Sargam

Picturisation of songs based on ‘Jugalbandi‘ presented by two singers is not new to Bollywood; but surely, it is something new to Marathi films. And, that too if it is presented by two finest singers like legendary Asha Bhosale and popular singer Sadhana Sargam, it is certainly a big news. One such ‘Jugalbandi‘ has been presented by these two singers, which has been picturised on classical dance performance by two equally good dancing actresses Deepali Sayyad and Sukhada Khandkekar.

This song is part of forthcoming Marathi film ‘Hero‘ directed by N.N.Siddiqui and the wordings of the song are ‘Dhinak Dhin Aag Laga Doon… Ga bai majha Tora Nakharel..‘ . Music of this Hindi-Marathi fusion song has been composed by Raja Ali, while the dance has been choreographed by Phulwa Khamkar. The other artistes of ‘Hero‘ film are, Ramesh Deo, Vijay Patkar, Uday Tikekar, Bhushan Patil & Vaishnavi Karmarkar.

Actress Varsha Usgaonkar, Marathi movie ‘Jalu‘

Marathi films are known for their extraordinary subjects. Many a times, such subjects are called the ‘hero’ of such films. Nikhil Bhosale who has experience of editing popular TV programmes like ‘CID‘, ‘Aahat‘, ‘Madhali Sutti‘ and ‘Comedy Express‘ will now be making his debut as a director through new Marathi film ‘Jalu‘ , shooting of which will begin soon.

Produced by Ajitkumar Dhule under his Sai Nakshatra Productions, the film’s choreography is to be handled by renowned choreographer Phulwa Khamkar. The director will himself be doing the editing work of this film. Versatile artistes like Jyoti Subhash and Kamlesh Sawant will be performing important roles in ‘Jalu‘ film, with other artistes to be finalized soon. According to the makers of this film, the film’s realistic subject would inspire women.

‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. If the head of the house uses bad words in regular conversation, how can you expect his children to speak without abuses, when they grow older? Based on this theme, writer director Sakar Raut has presented the latest Marathi film ‘Shivya‘, the title of which clearly indicates the intention of making this film. So, in this film, we initially find Mr.Raghunath Sardesai( Vidyadhar Joshi) uttering bad language while speaking over phone with his colleague. In comes his wife ( Shubhangi Latkar), who intervenes and suggests him to stop using bad words and tells him that his son imitates him, using bad words against his teacher.

When the son becomes a young man Raghav ( Bhushan Pradhan) , he is advised by his girlfriend Sharayu ( Sanskruti Balgude) , to desist from using bad language. In short, no woman like men using bad words, no matter under what circumstances. Raghav tries his best, but is not able to control his tongue. And, this lands him into trouble, as he uses bad words, while encountering Sharayu’s father. His close friend suggests him to use alternate words for such bad words. When Raghav is in the process controlling himself, a typical villain in the form of Vikram Sarpotdar( Piyush Ranade) appears in the story, to play predictable gimmicks to come in the way of Raghav and Sharayu.

With about 90 minutes of screenplay pushing this casual entertainer, it’s ‘all is well’ at the end. There is nothing very special in ‘Shivya‘ film, to write about, except for good performances by Bhushan, Sanskruti, Piyush and Shubhangi Latkar. Barring very few scenes, the other scenes have failed to create desired impact, as the makers of ‘Shivya‘ film have taken the liberty to use many bad words openly, as through the tag line of the film they clearly state that everybody uses bad words. But, all will not agree, especially the women folks. Music of the film is not very impressive and that is the biggest weakness of this film.
